Dr. Debasmita Pradhan has 18 years of teaching experience and ten years of research experience in Computer Science and Engineering. Her portfolio includes teaching core computer science subjects such as Data structures, algorithms, and advanced computer science subjects such as Soft Computing, Machine Learning, Parallel Distributed Systems, Big Data analysis, Hadoop, Map Reduce, etc. She has expertize in the programming languages like C, C++, JAVA, MATLAB, and Python and supervises them in developing models using machine learning and Python to solve real-life problems. Her research expertise is in Machine Learning and Systems Biology, which aligns well with state-of-the-art research and professional service activities for the betterment of society at large. She completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the School of Computer Engineering in 2021. She also received the prestigious ""Research Foundation Day Award"" from Biju Pattanaik University of Technology in 2020 for her outstanding research publication.

Apart from teaching and research, she is actively involved in several administrative responsibilities and student-related activities. She monitors the technical projects done by the students in their 3rd and 4th years of Btech and ensures their quality. As mentor of students she stays connected with the students and guide them for their professional, physical, and emotional well-being. Students love to be in touch with her during their difficult times and have confidence in her to share their problems and to take effective guidance. She is also a member of IEEE and an active member of the IEEE Bhubaneswar sub-section. She is Vice-Chair, of Students Activities, IEEE, Bhubaneswar Sub-section, and Secretary, Women in Engineering(WIE), IEEE, Bhubaneswar Sub-section. She actively participates in organizing different Technical and Socio-Technical events under the banner of WIE, IEEE ,Bhubaneswar sub-section.
