KIIT School of Computer Applications Organizes Communication Workshop

KIIT School of Computer Applications organized a two-day communication workshop on the 13th and 14th of September, 2020. Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. (Dr.) Veena Goswami, Director, School of Computer Applications, underscored the significance of Soft Skills in the professional world.

Guest Speaker Ms. Saswati Kar, a well known corporate trainer and an NLP master practitioner, placed some tips for effective conversation. Prof. Sadhna Sudershana, Faculty, School of Computer Applications facilitated and organized the workshop. She also conducted a session on ‘Impression management’ and ‘Grammar skills’.

Students from different branches of School of Technology (CSE, EEE, MCA, BCA, B.Sc., ETC, etc.) participated enthusiastically in the topics like ‘The Art of Conversation’ and ‘Impression Management’. The workshop ended with a valedictory session thanking the participants for making it a success.

Workshop on ‘Cloud Computing’ by KIIT School of Computer Applications

The School of Computer Applications, KIIT Deemed to be University in association with the TCS IAP Program conducted a workshop on ‘Cloud Computing’. Speaking at the event, Mr. Parameswar Das from TCS elaborated on the concept of Cloud, Micro services, API-fication, etc. Mr. Das has more than 25 years of industry experience. His areas of expertise are Enterprise Architecture and Digital Forces.

The workshop commenced with a welcome speech by Prof. Veena Goswami, Director, School of Computer Applications. It attracted a large number of participants from different schools, who enthusiastically participated in the discussion.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kashish Javed, 2nd year BCA student. It was coordinated by Prof. Sadhna Sudershana and Prof. Sudhansu Sekhar Patra, both faculty members of the School of Computer Applications.

Workshop on ‘Big Data’

KIIT School of Computer Applications conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Big Data’ in association with the TCS IAP programme on 6th and 7th of November 2020.

The speaker for the day, Mr. Hrishav Bakul Barua, a researcher in the field of Embedded Systems and Robotics, TCS Research and Innovation conducted a systematic and detailed session and covered a plethora of topics on Big Data, Analytics, Human-robot interaction and applications of Big data.

The workshop started with an introductory speech by Prof. Sadhna Sudershana, a faculty member of the School of Computer Applications. Prof. Veena Goswami, Director, School of Computer Applications gave the welcome speech and outlined the importance of Big Data in today’s world.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Alisha Chakraborty from 3rd year BCA. The faculty coordinators for this workshop were Prof. Sudhansu Sekhar Patra and Prof. Sadhna Sudershana.

KIIT SCA Conducts Webinar on ‘Anger & Stress Management

KIIT School of Computer Applications conducted a webinar on ‘Anger and Stress Management’ recently. The webinar witnessed encouraging participation from different schools of KIIT Deemed to be University. The speaker, Prof. Gopangana Das, Lecturer in Psychology, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha spoke about the importance of mental health in today’s world. She also enlightened the audience by explaining the impact of anger and stress on our lives and how to manage both of these to live a mentally healthy life. The webinar ended with a Question and Answer session and vote of thanks by Prof. Sadhna Sudershana, Faculty Member, KSCA.
